Randy:
What a pleasure to hear the voice of reason on-line. Amen to your comments
about uniforming and equipment. The quality issue (and I think the value
issue) have clearly been addressed by our National Supply folks. They have
heard the message of customer service and competition and I belive try their
hardest. The uniform today is pretty solid (even though boys still grow fast)
(and they are morally straight even without cargo pockets).
Sometimes in reading the comments on this subject I almost (but not quite) want
to say -- this new uniform is no good because Oscar de la Renta removed the red
piping from the button pockets and the BSA got rid of leggings for long pants
and garters (torniquets with red tabs) to hold the socks up.
Nice, thoughtful comments and your closing on Friends of Scouting is the best
on-line advice anyone can give.
Yours in Scouting
