The problem is not the height of the stove, but rather the closeness of the grass.
Even a single burner Coleman stove, which is about 5 inches tall can run into this.
The solution is simple. I use a small tarp (pegged down with tent pins) and several
small 6X6 inch sheets of aluminum sheet metal. These are placed under the stove to
protect the tarp from reflected heat. ONE WORD OF CAUTION! Use a towel or other
padding to place hot utencils and pans on. Otherwise you will have a "holy" tarp!
In an "emergency," improvise, How bout a wet towel?
