A quick reply to a quick question. The patrols in our troop always cook for
themselves unless they are working on a merit badge and they need tasters, or
on fifty milers where weight may need to be shared amongst everyone. On
fifty milers each person is usually reponsible for a meal. The adults always
cook for themselves. Unless they really want to show off and they prepare
some special dessert (usually not as a part of a regular meal, maybe after
campfire.) The adults really try to cook gourmet fare even on 50 milers.
This gives the boys some inclination as to what is possible with planning.
I hope this helps.
