Need camping info for Northern Minnesota

OK, my Sommers Canoe Base crew has opted for a red-eye flight to Minneapolis,
which brings them in too late to drive to Ely in time for check in. Can
anyone suggest possible campsites along the way where they might spend a
night? August 21, to be more precise.
Please respond via email so as not to clutter up the list, and I will
summarize later for everyone (and include the list on the crew's WWW page).
