Perhaps this was overstated. Could you elaborate a bit?
Do you mean with ONLY a man as leader? What if one or more woman
were present? How about if you were there?
Do you mean ANY man? What if the man was a registered, trained,
and experienced GS leader whom you had known for some time? What if
he was the father of one of the other girls? What if he was your
daughter's father (assuming that you are happily married to him,
no custody disputes. etc.)?
I have never been a registered GSUSA leader, but I have help
on some camping trips when my daughter was in Girls Scouts.
Why do you restrict this to camping? Sexual abuse could happen
just as easily on an afternoon outing to a local museum.
Doesn't GSUSA have rules similar to BSA's "Two Deep Leadership"
rules to insure that there is alsways at least two leaders
present on any activity?
