Wood Badge requirements

Re Marc Solomon question on changes in WB tickets requiring involvement in
Troop operations....

There are some very recent changes and these have been discussed in our staff
development sessions for W5-62-95, Longs Peak Council. It is my
understanding that tickets need to be tied more closely to troop operations
since this is Boy Scout Wood Badge. However, I don't see that this excludes
Commissioners and other District or Council scouters, just that their tickets
need to be centered around the troop or troops that they serve, and not
including items that are primarily serving other programs (i.e. Cubs,
Exploring, etc.) A Unit Commissioner for a troop(s), for example, can state
how he will help the troops he serves, or help with district Boy Scout
activities. A Boy Scout Roundtable Commissioner can plan Roundtable sessions
that serve the troops of their district. Those on District Committee would
include items that help the troops in their district (Boy Scout training,
Eagle advancement, district merit badge counselor list, etc.) But if a
district volunteer does not work with troops, or programs that benefit troops
they will have a difficult time writing a ticket under these changes. But
this is Boy Scout Wood Badge, and that is where the emphasis should be.
