Re: Troop Problem with Webelo...

As a cubmaster I'm very proud to have a great working relationship with my
"older brother" troop. maybe it would be a great idea if you were to contact
the cubmaster during the month of August instead of trying in september,
because that is our busiest month, we have dens to form, leaders to recruit,
scout night recruiting and finially start-uo and a pack meeting to prepare
for. If you still can't reach the cubmaster try the Unit Commissioner for
packs in your area. and probably you most important tool to recruiting new
webelos is the WEBELOS DEN CHIEF, for if you have a den chief in the pack he
can relay important information onto the Webelos den leaders and the
cubmaster. For it is the den chief who will become your most important
liasion to the boys and if the webelos like thier den chief then they will
most likely go into the troop where the den chief is a member of. If for some
reason you don't have any den chiefs in you troop then you may want to see if
any of the packs want them, it also fills the requirements for the boy scout
to serve in a troop position.
