We run an annual planning conference each year. However, the participants
are limited to the members of the Patrol Leaders' Council. Too many people,
with too many schedules and too many ideas can at times seriously muddle
progress toward a schedule.
You should have your council and district calendars available along with
local school calendars. The bad news is, avoiding conflicts is sometimes a
major challenge. The good news is that sometimes you can take advantage of
days off from school.
National has a cool video and workbook that you should get ahold of, the
"Troop Program Planning Kit" (part no. 33018, last time I looked). You
might want to take a look at that for some ideas for your first conference.
You can also use the tape at the conference, if you have the facilities.
