That's what our District Executive strongly recommended, since that allows
the boys to go to the next level camping experience that summer, instead
of having to wait another whole year.

Our pack did the same thing while I was Committee Chairman. We advised
the Den Leaders and parents, though, that as of September, no further
work would be recognized from the previous rank's manual. We also asked
the boy if he really wanted a whole summer's work to count toward arrow
points, instead of doing the same things and have them marked off in his
new book. <g>.
