I've seen one person allude to what I've heard about Pres. Clinton's
no show at the jambo, but lets put this into an historical perspective.
Prefice this by saying that some of what I know is second hand, and
thus anyone with contradictory info, please post it.
According to my sources, Bill Clinton was the first president since
1933, who failed to attend OR send a personal representative to the
national jamboree. Yep, since 1933 When this tradition began
(approx 15 jambos) this is the first time that the president failed
to even send a representative.
We can speculate all we want about his reasons for snubbing the boy
scouts, and I can not fault a busy man who is the pres of the US for
not being able to take (make) the time to attend. But I've got to
wonder why even his personal representative pulled a no show...
Well there's always the nest Jambo to look forward to...
