Currently, BT is phasing in this change. Either number will work, but
after April 16, you will have to use 0171. I've tried it when
contacting our London office (and dialing my company's BBS in London).
You won't have to worry about when to make the change. I noticed in
Leslie's signature, he had added the extra digit.
For those who might be calling from the states and aren't familiar with
the way phone numbers are in the UK, dial international long distance
(011), dial the UK Country code (44), ignore the leading 0 and dial the
city code (171), and dial the local number.
