Re: JAMBOREE PRESIDENTIAL VI

It may be I'm off base on things like Presidental visits, but I happen to be in
New York when our illustrious President visited my hotel for a dinner. The secu
rity was extremelly tight and the police force was enormous. The next day I rea
d where the City of New York spent a huge amount of money providing protection f
or the President. Specifically in Police Overtime.

In the event of a Private Organizations Event, such as a Jamboree, who is going
to foot the bill for the additional security. I doubt that the Jamboree has it
in it's budget. And it would not surprise me if security isn't the reason why v
isits are not more frequent.

Anyway, just my .02 worth.

In Scouting . . .

Peter

ps. This weekend Cascade Pacific Council hosts it's Train The Trainer workshop.
You'rs truly is teaching Uniforming (I've loved the mail bouncing back and for
th and believe me some of it will be incorporated in my presentation), Leader Ap
preciation (one of my favorites), and Communication Skills (You'd said WHAT?)...
I'm also MC'ing the campfire and will be lighting the fire via Campfire Dust (ma
gical). I'm looking forward to this weekend and a great time to be had by all i
nvolved.
