Joe, I am in Acton Mass if you need more info but I just
verified this info with the MDC.
I am sending this to a larger audience because there are
a lot of people in the NE area who may want to use this
as a camping spot.

As I remember, there is really ONE boat in the morning (9:30A?)
and ONE boat (1:00 P?) in the afternoon.
We took the train from Acton -> Boston (North Station) EARLY
~6:50AM. We hiked from North Station Through the North End
(1/2 mile) and bought a case of peaches to bring with us.
We hiked the last 1/2 mile to Boat and waited an hour.
----------------------- Our Adventure ----------------------------------------
We went last summer when there was 2 1/2 inches of rain is
3 hours plus a massive lightning storm (3000 strikes in Boston)
on a Saturday morning... This was when we went!
Two adults went ahead to find the boat landing at
Long Wharf while we had the boys secured inside doorways
and I remember finding the boat launch. During the height of the
storm, we were under a open tent structure with 300 other people
(waiting for a boat to Providence). We had our packs, and tried
to squeeze under the tent. The other people really tried to make room.
The rain washed off the tent, down my pack, down the back of my
legs and filled my boots!
The kids did VERY well considering what they had to deal with
weather-wise. The islands are beautiful and a lot of fun.
We ate our fill of peaches and then passed them to the rangers
who were more than please to get them.
They let us build a camp fire below the high tide mark in the
evening. The boys collected all the scrap wood we could find.
[The ranger came out while the fire was burning and said we could
have a CAMPFIRE not a BON FIRE!... I think the peaches helped us here!]
Not sure we know the difference 8-)... only kidding
