Campus Girl Scouts

Has anyone ever worked with Campus Girl Scouts? I have been
approached by a group of young women on campus who were Senior
Girl Scouts (various U.S. Councils) and would now like to form a
troop/group. The University has approved their request and our
Council will provide support. Unfortunately, we have a new
program director (staff position) for the older girl program and
she is trying to get up to speed with the Cadette and Senior
program -- helping to form a new type of unit is not on her
agenda right now. These young women are extremely capable and
will, of course, organize their own activities and projects. As
a Neighborhood Chair, Troop Organizer, and Program Committee
member, I can assist them with some of the paperwork and provide
volunteer support. I just was hoping to talk to someone who had
worked with such a Girl Scout program.
JUST A NOTE: Of course, I immediately told them to dig out their
white gloves, picture hats, and tea sets so they could do some
real Girl Scout activities. Imagine my chagrin when I learned
they were interested in camping, hiking, service, and all those
activities that only other types of scout programs seemingly
provide. Why I fluttered my fan and sank, gracefully of course,
onto the divan.....
