Our BSA troop runs a 'Super Campout' every June (just after school is
out) to which families are invited and it has been a big hit with
everyone. We choose a different place every year, appx 1 day drive from
Chicago area. We have been to Mackinac, Upper Penninsula, Kentucky,
even to Colorado.
We have someone who coordinates the event, researching activities for
all ages, as well as leisure time. We also always try to do some kind
of Service project (trail clearing, cleanup, etc) at the destination.
