Boys and Girls

Sorry Lloyd i disagree with this comment. Numbers _had_ been dropping and lets
face it they always go in peaks and troughs but to say that the UK SA let in
girls just to get the numbers up is wrong and very patronising.

The disaffection with the Guide program by a large number of girls led to this
discussion. Thats not critising the Guide Leaders but the basic idea behind
the GG did not appeal to the emerging girls and young women. They wanted to do
the types of things that they could see their brothers and school friends doing.
and why not!! Give all of the young people the choice of what groups they want
to belong to regardless of gender. If it brings more money into the Movement so
be it but IMHO that was _NOT_ the bottom line.
