BSA: Common Scouting Errors

Here are some Errors often heard in the BSA,
Errors include misspellings, incorrect terms and old terms no longer used.
(Sometimes misspelled words are typos - Even I do it :-) )
First the correct term - then the incorrect ones
Unit/Troop/Pack Commissioners - Not Neighborhood Commissioner
Council (Local or National) - Not Counsel
Cub Scouting - Not Cubbing or Cubs
Den Leaders - Not Den Mothers
once, always an Eagle Scout - Not was an Eagle Scout * see Note below
EITHER Explorers (YOUTH members)
OR Exploring (the program) - Not Explorer Scouts
Explorer Post or Explorer Ship - Not Explorer Troops
Scouters, with a big S - Not scouters (small s)
Shoulder tabs - Not epaullettes
Troop Leaders' Council - Not PLC (Patrol Leaders Council)
Varsity Scouts - Not Varsities
Webelos - Not Webelo or Webelo's ...
Wood Badge - Not Woodbadge, woodbadge or wood badge
World Crest or World Crest Badge - Not World Badge
* Note :
The phrase 'I used to be an eagle ...' refers to an adult leader who
has completed Wood Badge, not someone who received the Eagle Scout award as a
youth.
