Ancient History

Tom Foss (fosst@FREENET.SCRI.FSU.EDU)

Watching the recent threads on the old Lion rank prompted me to go digging
in my "Scout stuff" box, where I found my "Cub Scout Graduation
Certificate" (with a tag of No. 3761 4/59 printing in the corner). Dated
September 1962, it was signed by both the Cubmaster and Pack Committee Chair
of my old Pack (Pack 5, Bremerhaven, Germany, Transatlantic Council) and the
Scoutmaster and Troop Committee Chair of my new Troop (also 5).

Are these certificates still in use?

Also found a different 50th anniversary patch -- standard round size, yellow
fabric, "Cub Scout Jubilee" in black on outer circle, "For God and Country,
Boy Scouts of America, 50 years of service, 1910-1960" in various colors
(black, white) on the inside, with the trefoil in the middle. Does that fit
in the mix of patches that Mike described?
