I, too, am an Assistant Scoutmaster of Troop 117 --- but in Richardson, Texas (s
uburb of Dallas)! Welcome to Scouts-L.

I am also a senior at the University of New Orleans

Another coincidence -- I was very interested in Geology in College. But never pu
rsued the degree....became a Journalism major. Then went on to
photography school in California, where I "lived" geology! Was in the '71 Sylmar
Quake (in Santa Barbar, 90 miles north).

Been thinking 'bout quakes this week, what with Japan and all. I was in a (I thi
nk I remember...) 6.8 quake in Tokyo in 1969. Or was it a 6.9 in '68. Oh,
who cares....(the preceding is all true, by the way...)

Yet another coincidence. I AM a technical writer today. That means, if I don't w
rite the manuals that no one ever reads, the taxes on the house go unpaid.

I'm sorta new to the Internet. Other than the Scouts-L, the only Scouting resour
ces I know are on the World Wide Web (WWW):

<http://www.strw.leidenuniv.nl/~jansen/scout.html>
(Netherlands WWW link)

<http://seton.cor.net/homepage.html/scouts/t117.html> or <http://seton.cor.net/
scouts/t117.html>
(we can't make up our minds...but our troop is 'on the Web' -- check it out)

I'd be very interested in you list of Scouting resources. I've gotten a lot of h
elp from people online lately, re: Scouting issues.
