I have received a mailing from the US Park Service that might be of interest
to the group. This spring a regional planning commission will be sponsoring
a tree planting project at Antietam National Battlefield. "Replanting History"
West Woods Reforestation Project near Sharpsburg, Maryland will attempt to
restore approximately 65 acres of woodland to it's 1862 historic appearance.

This is being "billed" as an excellent opportunity for Scouts to become
involved in a service project. PS...there an excellent 10 plus mile
orienteering hike through the park, and a good (free) camping area at one
end of the trail.
