NO, I AM NOT KIDDING! Volunteers are what keep the Scouting program alive.
Some might be misdirected, but without them there would be no Scouting
program. If you value Scouting you must support the Scouters in your area.
This does not mean getting rid of one because that one is misdirected but
taking his energy and redirecting it where it can be of more use!

Occassionally, a Scouter gets burned out. In that case, someone should
discuss with him possibly leaving the program temporarily or at least take a
lesser role until he can refocus. When that Scouter has decided that
whatever problems caused him to experience burn-out are handled, he should
be welcomed back.

Unless a Scouter is doing something illegal, at no time should he be forced
out of the program. The dissent an Ex-Scouter can spread is horrible and
disgusting and should be avoided. It could lead to other Scouters and (even
worse) Scouts to leave the program.

Please keep in focus what it is you are attempting to do. Do you want to
modify the program being offered by your troop to be more in line with the
Scouting program or do you want to lead a revolution. I warn you now
revolution are bloody things and frequently do not accomplish what the
leaders of the revolution really set up to do.

Action is warranted but I doubt what you are looking for is to lead a lynch
mob. Use the resources available to you but keep in focus AT ALL TIMES what
it is you seek to accomplish. I suggest that you can achieve your goals
without any bloodshed. This man does not need to be let go as much as
redirected!

Does anybody else on this list agree with me?
