}I have been monitoring the discussion about "advancement" ceremonies with
}great interest...but I have seen one advancement missing that we have found
}critical in keeping boys involved in scouting....TIGER CROSS-OVER INTO CUB
}SCOUTS.
At the end of the school year, with the help of the OA, we cross all
the boys up one level. The Tigers are crossed into the pack as part
of the same ceremony. We wanted it part of the other ceremony because
after it they were just like the other Cubs.
Last year, we had an advancement ceremony for any boys that waited to
the last minute to get their rank. It was similar in style to the
ceremony the OA was about to use for the cross over.
For the cross over ceremony, we start by crossing the first year
Webelos into second year Webelos. As each group moved up we advanced
the next younger group to take their place. The Tigers are given their
Wolf book as part of the ceremony.
We now had a new Wolf Den. Four of the boys had finished their
Bobcat. So, we had a second advancement ceremony for these boys. It
again was similar in style to the other two ceremonies. All three
ceremonies were different and unique.
