Hi Mike!

I enjoyed your post.. but I think I have to reply to the bottom part
there. We can't be Boy Scouts anymore here in Canada, because more
and more troops are going co-ed. :)

And our association is now Scouts Canada, not Boy Scouts of Canada,
anymore. I think they even got the Act of Parliament changed to reflect
that.

Some things should stay "old", but other things have to change because
of related changes. I wouldn't like to be known as a Girl Scout, and
I don't think most girls want to be known as Boy Scouts.

As far as I know, we don't have any sort of similar position over here.
Scouts Canada does have a Religion in Life programme for sections
starting with the Cubs, and it's run by the participating religions.
And groups are supposed to have an adult spiritual advisor.

I don't think I've ever referred to myself, or others, as Boy Scouts.
I guess it's simply not done much by people I know actually involved
in Scouting around here today.
