Good News/Bad News

Let me relate a recent experience:

Pushing 50, I've begun to wonder what I've accomplished that will live
after I've pushed off, especially in the Scouting area; what will I be
remembered for. Well, I've found the answer and it's plastic bags.

I got into a discussion with parent about what a Scout should take and
I mentioned that it was always a good idea to take two plastic bags of
the type the Washington Post newspaper is delivered in. If the boots
turn out to be not-so-waterproof, you can slip your stockinged foot
into the bag, then into the boot; acts both as a heat producer(vapor
barrier) and a waterproofer. Well, the dad turned to me a grinned.
"You know", he said," Johnny came back from the last camping trip and
blurted that idea out like it was the most wonderful idea he had ever
heard". "I don't know what else he learned, he never mentioned them, but
using the newspaper plastic bags is the first thinng on on his camping list!".

Mortality in the form of a plastic bag!
