Trips, disappointment, etc.

We had a death blow dealt to our trip to Russia. The kids are truly
disappointed and bitter. The organizers, who had known for almost a
year that they were going to attempt this, did not investigate requirements
of organizations. The girl scouts (GSUSA) have the (ridiculous) rule that you
must plan a trip such as this for two years. The Delaware-Raritan GSC
told us not to bother trying again. The girls are so angry they want to
go over to an Explorer post. It took BSA ONE WEEK to return a National
Tour Permit after all the paperwork from Russia came back. We have convinced
them to stick with what they have been doing and to go someplace else as
a group.

They are interested in keeping the group together and going to a Canadian
Jamboree. Please send dates, and contact points to me so that I can pass
them along to the organizers. This takes a much more reasonable three
months planning and they are aiming for summer 1995. If you know of a
Canadian Provincial Jamboree in that time period, pass it along.
