Given the fact that numerous folks might be bringing live trees into
their homes, the following is a concoction for a Christmas Tree Fire
Retardant:
Use a 2 gallon pail;
1 gallon hot water;
1/2 teaspoon borax;
2 ounces cider vinegar;
1 pint clear Karo syrup;
4 ounces liquid chlorine bleach;
2 ounces of wetting agent or liquid Woolite;
Fill to 2 gallons with hot water;
Make a fresh cut 2 inches from the trunk base;
Add the tree....
For best results: Leave tree in the pail for 5 days before bringing
it inside. Use the remaining mixture to fill the tree stand
reservoir.
