Re: Flag Ceremonies

There are two that I especially like. One is a silent ceremony--except
for saying the pledge and Promise, of course. The other is to do the
ceremoney to a reading. There is one called "I am Old Glory" that I have
used. After calling Scouts to attention, it is read and the color guard
knows on which words to do everything from coming to attention to
saluting the flag. The rest--pledge, Promise, and retreat--are done with
the usual commands.
In an outdoor ceremony, carrying the flag in open instead of folded can
add variety.
