Terry,
I'm sorry, but I have to disagree with John Oakes. Roundtable Staff
members do not earn the Commissioner's Key. Instead, they are able to
earn the Scouter's Training Award. Since the Commissioner's Key is
required for the Distinguished Commissioner Service Award, you won't
be able to earn it that way. Also, the DCS Award requires 5 consecutive
years of service as a commissioner. Since RT Staff service does not
count toward the Commissioner's Key, I don't believe it can count toward
satisfying this requirement either. However, I have never seen this
explicitly spelled out. My advice would be to remain registered as a
Unit Commissioner.
