I learned it at Girl Scout Camp! (Arrowhead, Peter -- you may have
heard of it; we're in the same area)
The Alligator is my friend
He could be your friend too
If only you could understand
That he has feelings too.
SWITCH!
The Alligator laughs and plays
He never sings the blues
I'd rather have him for my friend
Than wear him as my shoes.

ALLigator
Could be your friend, could be your friend, could be your friend too!
The motions:
Hold arms straight out in front of you, and clap, right hand on top of
left, simulating (what else?) an alligator's mouth! Clap to the beat,
by the way!
When you yell SWITCH! reverse arms so that the left hand is on top.
Be sure to over-exaggerate this motion!
Clap through the second verse
Then at the end -- open arms big for "ALLI", close on "gator", both
times. Shake finger repeatedly at imaginary person during the "could
be your friend"'s, hold up two fingers on "too"
That's one of my favorites too!
