I am glad to see us starting this thread up again. I know to some out there
that this subject can get a little boring if you are not involved with kids
having such problems. The troop I work with has two boys with such problems.
One boy has epilepic problems and the other has a mild case of cerebral palsy.
Both of these boys are classified learning disabled and ADD. The later boy
is my oldest son, Chris. I am pleased to announce that Chris passed all
requirements for First Class Scout.
Chris accomplished these requirements with NO exceptions. It just took some
extra time. Chris is 13.33 years old and was elected to troop position of
librarian last night during troop elections. He has already meet the merit
badge requirements(12 total) for Star and will do a service project at one of
the state parks in a couple of weeks (one of our campouts).
The other boy's name is Shawn. He is 20 years old. The proper medical forms
where filed and Shawn was given an extension on his age. Shawn is now working
on Eagle Rank.
