Cindi,
I would suggest that in dealing with your large number of boys to your
small number of adult leaders you are honest and up front with the parents
who come to your meeting to explain the program. I is still early in the year
and many parents have not settled into their weekly schedule and thus may be
able to add the scouting involvement. They seem to be excited about having
their sons in the program and thus might be willing to give of themselves to
make sure the program is available for their sons. Many of us got into
scouting in just this way, myself included. I have never regetted taking the
step into the program.
Good Luck in your recruiting!
Yours in scouting, Bob Sargeant, DC for GW District, NCAC, BSA. Speaking for
myself in the scouting spirit. The Old fox.
