Some people say our PM brought up the republican issue to get away from the
economy :-) Somewhere or other (I think at the Venturer Seminar - a weekend
where representitves of every unit get together and discuss changes that
should be made in venturing in the state) somebody brought up the issue of
Queen's Scout and the republic. We were told by the Branch Commisioner for
Venturers very quickly that "that bridge will be crossed when we come to
it" I think he is a monarchist :-) No more was said on the issue.
Just to add to the list of quotes by our Prime Minister "Australia is the
ass end of the world" <-- I believe he was Treasurer then and speaking to
the then PM. He claims he was speaking geographically :-)
