It is a <criminal offence > to use the Scout uniform without authority
apart from plays ,pageants etc. " where it will not be brought into
disrepute " I believe it is the Chartered Societies Protection of Names
Badges & Uniforms Act 1933 or something similar ( I don't have POR to hand).

I don't know when anybody was last prosecuted , if ever, but the threat
is there and devolves from the Royal Charter granted to The Scout
Association.
