GS Wider Ops

Lynn and others,
My daughter received in the mail this weekend a brochure (magazine) on the
various Wider OP programs for the coming year. She will be 12 in Nov., and
while most are for older girls, she was THRILLED (to be very mild) at the Wider
OP in San Antonio with Fiesta Texas theme park. This program is geared for
girls who have "drama" in their blood and that certainly describes her!
Then we got my Council Planning calendar, and find that coming up in 2 weeks is
an overnight event for girls to learn how to apply for Wider Op, how to plan
for the fund-raising, etc.... We will be attending that overnight activity and
hope to learn LOTS about how to go about applying for one of these wonderful
opportunities.
I do not remember that the council has had such an event in the past, but am
pleased that we do this year! Hopefully this will give us all the information
we need to get her started on this activity... and with any luck she'll be
selected to attend this.
