Re: Are we about to make TRAINED meaningless?

I think we should hold off on crticizing the new Cub Scout Basic
until we have tried it. True it is shorter than the old one but
that does not mean that it will be less informative. Having given
the old training both as a one day and a two day fro several years
now I have come to realize there is a HUGE amount of repatition
in it. From my point of view as a trainer if the new video has
got rid of Mr. REE I will be eternally grateful.

With the new requirement for all scouters to take the 3hr long
youth protection program. I do not think that the total amount
of training will be reduced that much.

Any way enough second guessing. I am told the new course has
just arrive at our district HQ and I intend to give present it
in late Septemper or early October After that I will let you
know my feelings about it.
