Scouters:

I've received a lot of responses about my post on ADD. As I said, my
oldest son is ADD and I had him become a Cub Scout because I thought the
experience would help him. I asked a general question about ADD
resources on the internet and got lots of responses. Apparently
many of you either have ADD children, have ADD yourself, or must deal
with ADD children in scouting.

Here is a listing of resources for ADD that people have told me about:

1). There are two newsgroups, alt.support.attn-deficit and
alt.psychology.help, that serve as question and answer forums.
Also misc.kids sometimes has ADD references.

2). There is an ftp site ftp.mcs.com under directory
/mcsnet.users/falcon/add/

3). CompuServe has an excellent ADD forum (GO ADD).

4). AskERIC is a excellent source of ADD materials on GopherSpace.
You can get to AskERIC by "gopher ericir.syr.edu". Once there,
search on ADD or ADHD.

5). There is a listserver at LISTSERV@ASUVM.INRE.ASU.EDU. To subscribe,
type "Subscribe Behavior <firstName> <lastName>" in the body of
your message. It works exactly the same as the SCOUTS-L listserver.

6). Another mailing list is ADD-PARENTS@MV.MV.COM. This is also a
mailing list, but the program that handles it is a little
different. To subscribe, mail to "MAJORDOMO@MV.MV.COM with
the body of the message:

"SUBSCRIBE ADD-PARENTS <firstName> <lastName>"

7). There is another mailing list. This seems to have a lot of information
about ADD on it, although the list, KIDSPHERE, is dedicated "to develop
an international network for children & teachers". To subscribe, send
mail to:

kidsphere-request@vms.cis.pitt.edu

To post, send postings to:

kidsphere@vms.cis.pitt.edu

8). One more list: behavior@asuacad.BITNET. I take it that this is
a listserver site, but I was not given directions on how to
sign up. I take it you subscribe to listserv@asuacad.BITNET and
send the message:

SUBSCRIBE BEHAVIOR <firstName> <lastName>

Thanks for those who responded to my request.

I also have an "ADD Self Test" if anyone is interested. I'm not posting it
on the list (too long), but I'll send anyone who wants it a copy.
