Hi Everyone,
For those of you interested in clip-art and the upcoming 37th
Jamboree-On-The-Air (JOTA), Jon has created a special section in
the archives of SCOUTS-L, called JOTA.
I have just now uploaded clip-art files in PCX format with lots of
cartoons and drawings from Jamboree-On-The-Air publications
world-wide. The individual files have been zipped into one and
uuencoded, so you need to unzip and uudecode after retrieval from
the archives.
There are 4 different categories, which you can now retrieve by
sending this command to the listSERVER (so NOT to the list
itself!):
GET SCOUTS-L JOTA CLIP-#
Fill out 1,2,3 or 4 at the place of the #.
Let me know what you think and should you have other JOTA or Radio-
Scouting related clip-art I would be much obliged if you can inform
me.
Specific information on the 37th JOTA (to be held 15 - 16 October
1994), what it is, how you can enjoy this world-wide international
activity together with 500,000 other Scouts and how this is
organised can all be found in the 2 info circulars which have been
issued thusfar. You can retrieve the information by sending this
command to the listSERVER:
GET SCOUTS-L JOTA #CIRC94
Fill out 1 or 2 at the place of the # to obtain the first or second
info circular.
The EUROPEAN SCOUT JAMBOREE is bound to start. Precisely 9650
Scouts from all over Europe (and even a bit outside) will gather
in the Netherlands, 1 - 11 August '94. Want to catch a glimpse
of the atmosphere? The Jamboree is equipped with an amateur
radio station with the call-sign PA6ESJ. It can be contacted at
the scout frequencies on all short-wave bands.
Digital communications are also possible. The Jamboree can be
reached via the packet-radio network at the address:
PA6ESJ@PI8WFL.NLD.EU
The camp-site is the same as for the WORLD SCOUT JAMBOREE to be
held there next year. It is situated about 40 kilometers to the
East of Amsterdam and at a height of - 2.3 meters (so BELOW sea
level). The site used to be the bottom of a former large
lake......
Greetings from behind the dikes,
