Re: Pinewood Derby Winning

Each year the Pinewood Derby happens I try to convince my son that
winning the race is not all there is. The younger the child is the harder
it is for them to accept a loss at something beacuse they are so
competitive at that age.
Last years Pinewood Derby was the best yet for my son an I beacuse we
worked very closely together than the 2 years before. He came up w/ the
design he wannted for the car and we both worked on it together. that
made winning a lot less inmpotant.
I would say that in the future, to take the emphasis off of winning and
more for the importance of doing your best and making it a project not a
contest.
Although we do give out trophies, we also give out ribbons of
participation too.
