Buddy,
You and your SM seem to be doing all the right things.
My answer is to let the older members of the committee handle the "NEW" mother
and the group of parents from the less active new patrol.
What you are being faced with seems to be the major reason why the attrition
rate between Weblos and Boy Scouting is so high.
Many transition parents want Burger King (they want to get what THEY want) and
they find out Boy Scouts isn't Burger King. In fact, the parents shouldn't
have much say at all. The boys should...
Breaking in Weblos parents is tough.. Sort of like doing horses.. Some are
easy, Some never get the idea.....
The best thing is for your Trained, informed committee members to discuss this
offline (away from a formal committee meeting, where you need to get work done)
with the "problem" parents over and over and over until they either get the
idea or more than likely give up...
I'm sure that Mike Walton will have a bunch of ideas.
The best suggestion to a new parent is to hang around and whatch and listen for
at least 6 months. They can't learn too much if their mouths are continually
open expressing their opinions.
