Dear friends,
some words about my scout-dicitionary; I sent it to Jon. If he agrees to put
it on the listserver, you can get it from there, otherwise send me an email
and I'll send you an 5540 Bytes ZIP-file. There are eight languages in it:
German, English, French, Italian, Spanish, Portuguese (Brasilian), Esperanto
and Dutch. The translations of each word are seperated by comma, the different
words by CARRIAGE RETURN. There are some special characters in it which will
cause trouble unless used by a Windows-program. Hopefully there should be no
problems, reading it into databases, wordprocessors or vocabeltrainers.
Having it imported into a database, you can sort the words in your mother-
language and print them in that order. If you cut two sheets of 21 x 20 cm,
and print in a 15 cpi font, four languages should fit on one sheet (half of
the words on front, the rest on backpage), print the next four languages on
the next sheet, stick them together with sticky-tape, fold them four times
and put it in your breast-pocket during the next Jamboree.
Some of the words may seem strange to some people, some of the items may not
exist anymore in certain countries, there may be more than one word for the
same thing in one language and so on. I know it is far from being perfect, but
hopefully it is a little help to some of you.
If you can add another language, please let me know!!
If you have more ideas how to use it, or how to improve it, let me know!!
Gut Pfad!
