As an advisor for the OA and as a former SM, Mike has some great points.
I just came back from our OA section conclave where the boys were
successful. They took second place in rifle and archery; and all
four places in the ceremonies competition. They were motivated by
themselves to go beyond anything that they have ever acheived.
There was no advisors doing anything but grinning and cheering.
The OA Lodge is more active than it has been in years because the youth are
running the operation and being very successfull at it. Isn't our jobs
to let them make mistake and successes by doing the Scouting program?
We train them to run their program, then we step back to see what happens.
Yes they have been coached and trained, but they did themselves.

Good ideas! I am off to the Council Program Launch as a district trainer
and member of Pack 37s Committee.
