I used "My Scout Badge" with a severely retarded unit (group home setting).
I thought it was wonderful in that it provided GOOD instant recognition but
I also thought that it didn't always challenge the scouts the way it should.
What we ended up doing was using the regular requirements as much as possible
with a lot of help along the way. Before you discount the capabilities of
the LD scout, try giving him a bit of individualized help (as was done). It
takes more work but is far more rewarding in the long run.
