Scouting friends,
As we discuss how to disseminate and archive scouting
images, I have one request. Please don not use compression
or archiving formats that are peculiar to MS-DOS or Mac
systems.I would suggest that we follow the convnetions
used in the Usenet newsgroups that distributed binary
images (UNIX style compress, tar and uuencode).
On the UNIX platforms that I use, I can deal with many different
iamge formats, but I cannot reliably handle Mac files that
have associated resource segments or with newer PKZIP formats
