OA Registration question.

To Fred Rogers

Fred, your comments bring up another question about registration. I see it
happen quite a bit, perhaps the unit that an older person has been with for
years has folded or something like that, yet the person wants to keep up
their registration with BSA. I see so many folks like that who want to
registar as a member at large of the district committee, because there seems
to be no other place for them to go. Yet if they allow too many to registar
with the district it sure can cause the district rosters to get pretty
cluttered.

There is sort of the same problem with kids when they go off to college or
military or something like that. Many Troops have a policy of continueing to
carry them as ASM on the roster untill such time as they get out of school
and come back or move on to someother place and get into a new unit. I guess
thare is a position called college reserve to maintain registration for kids
that are away, but I have never heard very much good about it.

There needs to be a spot where people that want to pay dues and maintain
their registration could do so.
