Re: A Serious, but Odd Question

}A boy can only stay as an active Cub Scout (i.e. earn advancement of
}any rank) until he is 11 yrs 6 mos. IF - IF - IF- his pack does not
}recharter during that time. If the pack recharters at his age 11yr. he
}drops from the charter.

I see we had several boy illegally registered for a couple months. Our
school system is pushing the starting date for Kindergarten back. So,
we had several boys who were 11 before they started the 5th grade. We
reregistered the boys in December. They then transfered into a Scout
troop in February.

Since the troops have gone to new boy patrols, they aren't set up to
handle boys joining the troop at odd times of the year. (Our troop had
enough problem with boys joining over a month and a half. (Our council
is pushing a February or March cross over.))

Note: the age limit doesn't apply to handicapped boys.
