American G.I.R.L

I just talked to Council (Seven Lakes) about the new publication for Girl
Scouts. It is called "The American G.I.R.L." as opposed to the magazine
already called "American Girl". It is being published by Scholastics, for
Junior age girls (9-11 years) in general. It is not strictly for Girl Scouts,
although all Junior Girl Scouts will get a copy in their registration packets
in the fall. I'm sure all girls in the 4th - 6th grades will be getting
offers to subscribe through schools. GSUSA has put there stamp of approval
on the magazine, they are NOT publishing it.
