I was one of the Leaders of a British contingent to the USA in 1986, and
at the farewell gathering I was presented with a US flag which had been
flown over the Capitol. The framed certificate is hanging on my wall and
the flag is in the chest where I keep my special Scouting souvenirs. Even
thought I am not a US citizen that flag is something special. It reminds
me of the hospitality I received, of some great individuals I met, and
the fact that somebody took the trouble to write to their Member of
Congress to get it.
