I disagree with setting delays simply for exceeding a page of text. There
are many times when it takes a lot of room to bring across an idea. And
then to delay this simply becuase it was too many pages would make following
threads somewhat difficult. There has been a lot of talk about sig files
and quoting in the past. After which there was a big reduction in the
number of lines of the average .sig (just look at the difference between
Mike Waltom's sig from last year to this year. I'm not sure but i'd say
that he trimmed at least 4-5 lines off of it.
Quoting back messages is still a problem but improving. Sometimes it is
necessary to quote a lot and would leave ppl confused if you didn't.
Now i'll be brief with my next two points.
1) i remember hearing something about getting scouts-l in digest form.
2) Disk Quota is irrelevant as long as you don't try to save and keep
all of the mail. At least here, I can have as much mail as i want spooled
without it affecting my quota. When i start to save it i run out of space.
-jeff "thinking a .sig should have enough in it to tell somethign about the
person who wrote the note....3-5 lines sounds about right..." menaker
