If this is a Scout function ("every day"?), there is policy about medication.
My son had to take Ritalin at day camp at noon before he went on time release
and I recall something about it needing to be written and the dose had to be
in a 'pharmacy' labeled bottle with name, dose, time, etc.
As far as trying to decide if the medication is neccessary, I don't see that
as yours or the childs decision. When my son misses his Rx it takes a couple
days for him to start bouncing big time, likewise, it takes a couple days of
being back on his Rx to downshift to an acceptable level.
If somebody is wjust handing you a pill and saying, "here, give this to my
kid if you think he needs it.", I wouldn't give it to him either.
