Beth,
It seems as if I posted before checking the text. Knowing now that
convoys are unacceptable, it seems as though it wouldn't be setting a good
example if we did do this.....
I have found in the past that the use of a CB and detailed road maps DO help
quite a bit. Also, we've tended to stop and wait for everyone after a tricky
turn (or a more complicated set of directions, such as the route to get around
the outside of a large city, etc.) at a rest stop, just to make sure everyone
made it. Looking back on what's been happening, it would appear that we've
pretty much been travelling more as individual vehicles (making stops every now
and then to make sure everyone's still with us) than as a "convoy".
However, I would like to emphasize how invaluable CBs are, and how important it
is that everyone know where they're going and understand the map BEFORE anyone
leaves on the trip.
YiS,
Chris
